As of the data provided, the current price of Grin (GRIN) is $ 0.03891033.
Grin (GRIN) is a private and lightweight open-source project based on the MimbleWimble blockchain protocol. MimbleWimble is a lightweight blockchain protocol proposed by an anonymous author known as Tom Elvis Jedusor in July 2016. The Grin project was launched with the aim of maintaining the privacy of its users, keeping blockchain data size minimal, and providing an egalitarian platform for distribution and the development process.
The MimbleWimble protocol, which Grin is based on, was proposed by an anonymous author identified only as Tom Elvis Jedusor. The actual development of Grin is an open-source process driven by developers around the globe with the goal of ensuring the coin distribution remains as fair as possible. Grin was launched without an Initial Coin Offering (ICO), fundraising, or pre-mine.
Unlike some other cryptocurrencies, Grin doesn't utilize addresses. To perform transactions using Grin, both wallets must communicate online, and the results are then broadcasted to the network. Furthermore, information about the transaction history (sender, receiver, amount) is not recorded in the blockchain. This design allows the blockchain data size to remain small, which keeps the overall blockchain lightweight and facilitates easy addition of new nodes to the network without the need to download a large blockchain.
Grin stands out for its strong focus on privacy and minimalism. With Grin, there are no addresses and no transaction history recorded on the blockchain. By wiping out this information from the transactions, the data size remains small, keeping the blockchain lightweight and efficient.
Grin uses the Cuckoo Cycle proof-of-work consensus algorithm. There are two hashing algorithms involved with Grin – Cuckoo-29 and Cuckoo-31. Cuckoo-29 is intended for GPU mining while Cuckoo-31 is intended for ASIC mining. This is a deliberate design aimed to encourage miners to eventually transition to ASIC mining for improved efficiency while maintaining fairness at the beginning of the launch.
As of the data provided, the current circulating supply of Grin (GRIN) is 213.7M.
Grin (GRIN) can be purchased on the following exchanges: TradeOgre, Bibox, Bitforex. Buyers should ensure their wallets can communicate with each other online in order to facilitate transactions, owing to Grin's unique structure that does away with addresses.
Storing your Grin safely can be done by using the two most popular wallets compatible with the Grin network – the Grin core wallet and Wallet713. As Grin prioritizes user privacy, proper wallet usage and protecting your wallet keys is important to keep your GRIN secure.
