Question 1

How much is STAKE currently worth?

Accepted Answer

As of the latest data, the price of STAKE is £ 0.02157417.

Question 2

What Is STAKE?

Accepted Answer

STAKE is a unique cryptocurrency that operates as an ERC20-type token, implemented as an ERC677 for additional functionalities. It's specifically crafted to secure on-chain payment layers and to facilitate a system through which validators can earn proof-of-stake (POS) incentives. STAKE serves as the staking token for the xDai Chain, a stable payments blockchain designed for fast and economical transactions.

Question 3

Who created STAKE?

Accepted Answer

The team behind STAKE and the xDai Chain are not specifically named in the provided information, but they are a collaborative group of developers and blockchain enthusiasts who saw the need for a stable, fast, and secure payment layer on the blockchain. They developed the xDai Chain, and consequently the STAKE token, to fulfill this niche within the ecosystem.

Question 4

How does STAKE work?

Accepted Answer

STAKE works by being used as a security measure for the xDai Chain's consensus mechanism. Validators on the network stake their STAKE tokens as collateral to participate in the network's governance and block validation process. As an ERC677 token, STAKE builds upon the standard ERC20 protocol by enabling the transfer of tokens to contracts and the execution of contract calls in one transaction, thus enhancing the token's capabilities and use cases.

Question 5

What makes STAKE unique?

Accepted Answer

What sets STAKE apart is that it's not just a currency—it's an integral part of the xDai Chain's proof-of-stake consensus mechanism. It's designed to incentivize validators and play a crucial role in securing the network. Additionally, the ERC677 standard allows for more advanced interactions with smart contracts, making STAKE a more versatile token within the Ethereum ecosystem.

Question 6

How is the STAKE network secured?

Accepted Answer

The security of the STAKE network is maintained through a POS consensus mechanism. This means validators are required to lock up a certain amount of their STAKE tokens. This incentivizes honest validation of transactions and securing the network, as validators have a financial stake in maintaining the network's integrity.

Question 7

How much STAKE is in circulation?

Accepted Answer

The circulating supply of STAKE is 2.2M, out of a total supply which details have not been provided for. This supply structure is designed to ensure that there are enough tokens for validators to stake and for the market to determine its value.

Question 8

What is STAKE's role in the xDai Chain?

Accepted Answer

STAKE plays a pivotal role on the xDai Chain by facilitating a stable and secure POS system. It's used by validators to participate in the consensus process, which includes creating and validating new blocks. The token also functions as a mechanism for distributing rewards to validators in multiple forms, helping to sustain the long-term security and viability of the xDai Chain.

Question 9

How is STAKE's technology upgraded?

Accepted Answer

Any upgrades to STAKE's technology would typically follow the governance model of the xDai Chain, which may involve proposals and voting by the community, particularly validators holding the token. The specifics of how technology upgrades are implemented for STAKE are based on the consensus of the network participants.

Question 10

Where can you buy STAKE?

Accepted Answer

STAKE can be purchased on various cryptocurrency exchanges which can be found listed as Coinone, Huobi, BitMax, AEX. Since it's an ERC20-compatible token, it's available on decentralized and centralized platforms that support Ethereum tokens.

Question 11

How to keep your STAKE safe?

Accepted Answer

To keep your STAKE tokens safe, it's recommended to store them in a secure wallet – preferably a hardware wallet for the highest security level. This ensures that your tokens are offline and not susceptible to online hacking attempts. Be sure to use reputable wallets and always keep your private keys confidential and backed up in a secure location.
