Question 2

What is VeThor (VTHO)?

Accepted Answer

VeThor (VTHO) is the secondary token in the VeChain dual token system. The primary token in this setup is the VeChain Token (VET). In this pair, VET grants rights to use the VeChain blockchain, while VTHO is generated as a passive reward for holding VET tokens in a process similar to staking. VeChain utilises this unique dual token economic model, claiming that it finds better suitability, especially for businesses, compared to other blockchains where heightened usage only escalates cost of deployment and operations.

Question 3

Who created VeThor?

Accepted Answer

The VeThor (VTHO) token was created by the VeChain Foundation, which is also responsible for the creation of the primary VeChain Token (VET). The Foundation plays a key role in the strategic development and technological advancement of the VeChain ecosystem.

Question 4

How does VeThor work?

Accepted Answer

The VeThor token serves as the primary energy or \"gas\" for transactions and smart contracts on the VeChain Thor blockchain. It is generated passively by holding VeChain Tokens (VET) - the more VET tokens a user holds, the greater amount of VeThor tokens they generate. This mechanism distinguishes itself from the more common single-token model where increasing network use leads to higher transaction fee, making VeChain’s solution attractive to enterprises.
