Question 1

What is the current price of sXMR?

Accepted Answer

The current price of sXMR can fluctuate due to market conditions. As of the latest data, sXMR is valued at LTC 4.27. In the last 24 hours, it has increased by +0.00%.

Question 2

What Is sXMR?

Accepted Answer

sXMR is a type of synthetic asset, known as a Synth, that tracks the price of Monero (XMR) and is part of the Synthetix ecosystem. Synthetix is a decentralized finance (DeFi) platform built on the Ethereum blockchain that allows users to create and trade these synthetic assets.

Question 3

Who Are the Founders of Synthetix?

Accepted Answer

The Synthetix platform was founded by Kain Warwick. He aimed to create a flexible financial platform where synthetic versions of physical assets could be exchanged without the need for direct ownership.

Question 4

How Does sXMR Work?

Accepted Answer

sXMR works by providing exposure to the price movements of Monero without the need to hold the actual cryptocurrency. It leverages the Synthetix protocol's smart contracts to maintain its price parity with XMR. Through a system of collateral and Synthetix Network Tokens (SNX), users can mint new sXMR by staking their SNX as collateral.

Question 5

What Makes sXMR and the Synthetix Platform Unique?

Accepted Answer

Synthetix is unique because it allows users to gain exposure to a wide range of assets, including cryptocurrencies, fiat currencies, and commodities, without needing to own the actual asset. This is done through the creation of 'Synths,' which are synthetic assets that mimic the price movements of their real-world counterparts. sXMR is an example of one such synth that tracks Monero's value.

Question 6

How Is the Synthetix Network Secured?

Accepted Answer

The Synthetix Network is built on the Ethereum blockchain, which is secured by a proof-of-work (PoW) consensus mechanism. This implies a large amount of computational power is needed to validate transactions and secure the network. The Synthetix platform itself adds an additional layer of security protocols and incentives to ensure the accurate tracking of its synthetic assets.

Question 7

What Is the Role of SNX in the Synthetix Ecosystem?

Accepted Answer

SNX is the native token of the Synthetix platform. It is primarily used as collateral to mint Synths like sXMR. Holding SNX also entitles users to participate in governance decisions and provides staking rewards to incentivize users to contribute to the system's stability.

Question 8

How Much sXMR Is in Circulation?

Accepted Answer

The circulating supply of sXMR is determined by the amount of SNX that is staked and the Synthetix protocol's algorithms. The supply can change as users mint and burn sXMR tokens. For the current circulating supply, the value is 401.5.

Question 9

What Is Monero, the Cryptocurrency sXMR Tracks?

Accepted Answer

Monero is a privacy-focused cryptocurrency designed to offer secure, private and untraceable transactions. It uses advanced cryptographic techniques to obscure transaction details, such as the identity of senders and recipients, as well as the amount of each transaction.

Question 10

How Can You Trade or Obtain sXMR?

Accepted Answer

sXMR can be traded on various exchanges that support Synthetix assets. To obtain sXMR, you can either purchase it directly from these exchanges or mint it through the Synthetix platform by staking SNX tokens. The current exchanges where sXMR is available include .

Question 11

Where Can You Buy sXMR?

Accepted Answer

To buy sXMR, you can visit the trading platforms or decentralized exchanges where it is listed. The availability of sXMR can depend on your region, so make sure to check whether the exchanges you're interested in offer sXMR for trade. The current exchanges that allow you to purchase sXMR include .

Question 12

How Do You Keep Your sXMR Safe?

Accepted Answer

Securing your sXMR is vital. Always use reputable wallets that support Ethereum-based assets (ERC-20 tokens) and follow best practices for security, such as using strong, unique passwords, enabling two-factor authentication, and keeping the bulk of your holdings in a hardware wallet for additional safety.
