Accepted Answer

What sets Semux apart from other cryptocurrencies is its commitment to experimental, high-performance blockchain development. Its core is designed entirely in Java, an extensively tested and dependable programming language known for its versatility. Moreover, Semux uses its own version of the Byzantine Fault Tolerance (BFT) consensus algorithm. This combination yields a powerful, reliable blockchain platform capable of hosting a variety of decentralized applications.

Question 6

How does the Semux BFT consensus algorithm work?

Accepted Answer

Semux adopts its own version of the Byzantine Fault Tolerance (BFT) consensus algorithm. This system involves an agreement process where all participating nodes in the network, known as validators, agree on a specific value (in this case, the correct transaction record). These validators exchange messages among themselves, and when more than two-thirds agree on a value, it's considered the true value. This setup enables Semux to operate without constant mining, potentially saving both computational power and energy usage.
