What Is Rubycoin (RBY)?

Accepted Answer

Rubycoin (RBY) is a digital currency, similar in nature to Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. It is used as the primary coin for transactions within the Rubycoin network. Unlike many other coins which are simply tokens passed around on a blockchain, Rubycoin is a standalone cryptocurrency with its own infrastructure and development team.

Question 3

Accepted Answer

The creator and the team behind Rubycoin don't put themselves fully into the limelight. Their focus is more on the product (Rubycoin) itself rather than promoting themselves. More information about them can be found on Rubycoin's official website.

Question 4

How Does Rubycoin Work?

Accepted Answer

Rubycoin operates as a peer-to-peer network where users can transact directly without intermediaries. It employs a proof-of-stake algorithm, in which coin holders get rewarded for validating transactions. This differs from Bitcoin's proof-of-work system, which requires powerful computers to crunch numbers. The details of how transactions are validated and added to Rubycoin's blockchain are somewhat technical, but essentially it's about significant Rubycoin holders contributing to the network’s security and decision-making.

Question 5

What Makes Rubycoin Unique?

Accepted Answer

One of the unique features of Rubycoin is the utilization of a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism. PoS allows holders of Rubycoin to ‘stake’ their tokens in order to validate new transactions and create new blocks. This process, also known as 'minting', rewards the stakers with additional Rubycoin, which can then be sold or held onto for additional staking.

Question 6

How Is the Rubycoin Network Secured?

Accepted Answer

Rubycoin uses a proof-of-stake consensus mechanism, which provides great security for the network. By requiring coin holders to 'stake' their coins to create new blocks and verify transactions, it creates an incentive against fraudulent activity. If a bad actor tried to manipulate the network, they would have to own a majority of Rubycoin—a costly and unlikely scenario.

Question 7

How Many Rubycoins Are in Circulation?
