Question 2

What is Validity (VAL)?

Accepted Answer

Validity (VAL), also known as Radium, is more than just a simple cryptocurrency. Leveraging the power of Proof-of-Stake, it has been designed to be the very backbone of SmartChain Core, thereby expanding its use cases far beyond the standard functions of a typical coin. Validity features a unique combination of identity-address linkage, proof-of-existence, file checksum verification and validation, and even decentralized voting and elections. All these features can be found in a fully distributed data-layer within the Radium blockchain.

Question 3

Who created Validity?

Accepted Answer

While specific details about the creators of Validity have not been made publicly available, the project is maintained by a dedicated team of developers. They are responsible for advancing features and overall development of the platform.

Question 4

How does Validity work?

Accepted Answer

Just like with other cryptocurrencies, Validity operates on a blockchain, which is a shared universal ledger where all the transactions are visible and auditable by the public. However, Validity extends this functionality beyond just financial transactions. On the Validity platform, users can link their identity with an address. This provides a seamless way of verifying identity in the system which can protect against fraud or identity theft. This concept extends to file checksum verification and validation, which can provide proof that a specific file has not been tampered with since it was originally recorded on the blockchain. Another distinguishing feature of Validity is its approach to decentralized elections and voting. With its completely distributed data-layer, every vote becomes a transaction on the blockchain, which ensures total transparency and verifiability. No single entity can control or manipulate the election process, making this system truly democratic and fair.

Question 5

What makes Validity unique?

Accepted Answer

The unique selling point of Validity is its versatility. Validity is not just designed to be a cryptocurrency but an entire platform where advanced functionalities like identity-linking, proof-of-existence, file checksum verification and validation, and decentralized polling are executed. By extending the uses of a blockchain, Validity is uniquely positioned to provide a wide array of services, giving it significant potential in numerous sectors, from finance and business to governance and social systems.

Question 6

How is the Validity network secured?

Accepted Answer

Just like many other cryptocurrencies, Validity employs a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism to secure its network. In this mechanism, validators (stakers) are chosen to create a new block based on their overall stake, which relates to the number of VAL tokens they hold. This is considered to be more energy efficient and secure compared to Proof-of-Work systems, and it ensures the long-term sustainability and security of the network.

Question 7

How much Validity (VAL) is currently in circulation?

The current circulating supply of Validity (VAL) is 5.7M.

Question 8
