Question 2

What is QuarkChain (QKC)?

Accepted Answer

QuarkChain is a decentralized, scalable, permission-less, and secure blockchain. It leverages sharding technology to potentially achieve more than 1 million transactions per second (TPS). The blockchain platform is designed to offer fast, secure decentralized applications. One of its key features is encouraging increased decentralization through inexpensive nodes that come together to perform as super-full nodes. This mitigates the high costs traditionally associated with super-full nodes when the TPS rises. To help ensure transaction security, QuarkChain places all transactions under the watch of 50% of the network's hash power. This makes double-spending attacks incredibly difficult, enhancing the blockchain's security and trustworthiness.

Question 3

Who developed QuarkChain (QKC)?

Accepted Answer

The team behind QuarkChain has orchestrated the development of this blockchain to address the issue of scalability, a primary concern present across many major blockchains today. The project's development began in 2017 with research into the scalability problem, followed by the drafting of a whitepaper in Q4 of the same year. Over the years, the team has been releasing new versions of the QuarkChain Core, testnet, and SmartWallet.

Question 4

How does QuarkChain work?

Accepted Answer

QuarkChain operates on a two-layer blockchain structure. The first layer comprises of sharding blockchains known as shards. The second layer is a root blockchain, which affirms the shards' blocks. The two layers combined allow QuarkChain to offer a high degree of scalability. Due to its sharding technology, QuarkChain extends the potential utility of blockchain technology significantly as it allows applications to break free from the scalability restrictions that exist on other blockchain networks.

Question 5

What are the main features of QuarkChain?

Accepted Answer

Several key features make QuarkChain unique. These include: 1. **Reshardable two-layered blockchain** - This is composed of two layers - a sharding layer that can be resharded as necessary, and a root layer that confirms the blocks from the first layer. 2. **Market-driven collaborative mining** - It uses a game-theoretic framework for incentives and guarantees security for all transactions by allocating at least 50% of the overall hash power to the root chain. 3. **Anti-centralized horizontal scalability** - QuarkChain promotes decentralization by allowing cheaper nodes to form a cluster and act as a super-full node, instead of relying on a costly single super-full node. 4. **Efficient cross-shard transactions** - It allows cross-shard transactions to be issued at any time and be confirmed in minutes. 5. **Simple account management** - QuarkChain allows users to manage all cryptocurrencies from different shards with one smart wallet.

Question 6

What is QuarkChain's market capitalization and supply metrics?

Accepted Answer

As of now, QuarkChain's market capitalization rank is #898, and its market capitalization is A$ 20.4M. QuarkChain's circulating supply is 7.3B, while its total supply is 10.0B.
