Question 1

How much is iEOS (IEOS) currently worth?

Accepted Answer

iEOS (IEOS) is currently valued at € 1.82. It is important to note that cryptocurrency prices are highly volatile and can change rapidly within short periods.

Question 2

What Is iEOS (IEOS)?

Accepted Answer

iEOS is a synthetic asset provided by the Synthetix platform. Synthetix is a decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol that allows users to create and trade synthetic versions of real-world assets, including cryptocurrencies, commodities, stocks, and indices. iEOS represents an 'inverse' EOS token, meaning its price is designed to move inversely to the actual price of EOS, a separate cryptocurrency.

Question 3

Who created iEOS?

Accepted Answer

As iEOS is part of the Synthetix ecosystem, it was created by the Synthetix team. Synthetix was originally launched as Havven in 2017 by Kain Warwick and later rebranded as Synthetix. The team behind Synthetix includes individuals with experience in both cryptocurrency and traditional finance.

Question 4

How does iEOS function within the Synthetix ecosystem?

Accepted Answer

Within the Synthetix ecosystem, iEOS functions as a synthetic asset that inversely tracks the price of EOS. Traders who expect that the price of EOS will decrease might be interested in iEOS as it is designed to increase in value as EOS decreases. Synthetix uses a peer-to-peer contract system, powered by the Ethereum blockchain, to enable the creation and trading of these synthetic assets without the need for a counterparty.

Question 5

What technology underpins iEOS?

Accepted Answer

iEOS is underpinned by the same technology that supports the entire Synthetix network, which is built on the Ethereum blockchain. This includes smart contracts that govern the creation and redemption of synthetic assets, and the use of collateral in the form of the native token of Synthetix, SNX, to back the synthetic assets.

Question 6

How is the value of iEOS secured?

Accepted Answer

The value of iEOS, similar to other synthetic assets on Synthetix, is secured by collateral in the form of SNX tokens. SNX holders stake their tokens as collateral to back the synthetic assets and in return, they earn a share of transaction fees from Synthetix's decentralized exchange. This staking mechanism helps ensure that there is sufficient backing for the assets within the system.

Question 7

What is distinctive about the iEOS concept?

Accepted Answer

The distinctive feature of iEOS is its inverse correlation with the EOS token. Usually, synthetics mimic the price movement of its real-world counterpart, however, an inverse synthetic moves in the opposite direction. This provides traders with a wider range of options within the DeFi space, potentially allowing them to hedge against price movements of EOS without owning the actual cryptocurrency.

Question 8

How much iEOS is currently in circulation?

Accepted Answer

The circulating supply of iEOS changes as traders mint and burn (exchange) these synthetic assets within the Synthetix network. Since iEOS is a synthetic asset, its supply is not capped in the same way traditional tokens are, and the available quantity responds dynamically to market demands.

Question 9

What is the role of iEOS within the broader context of DeFi?

Accepted Answer

iEOS plays a role within the broader context of DeFi as a tool for traders who want to speculate on price movements or hedge their exposure to the EOS token in a decentralized manner. It's an example of the innovative financial products that DeFi protocols like Synthetix are bringing to the blockchain ecosystem.

Question 10

Where can you trade iEOS (IEOS)?

Accepted Answer

IEOS can be traded on the Synthetix decentralized exchange, which is integrated into the Synthetix protocol. Outside of direct trading within the Synthetix ecosystem, availability on other exchanges may vary and can be checked on the Synthetix website or through market aggregators. Always ensure you are using a reputable platform when trading or purchasing cryptocurrencies.

Question 11

How can you safely store your iEOS?

Accepted Answer

Safely storing iEOS involves keeping it in a wallet with support for Ethereum-based tokens since it is an ERC-20 token. This could be a hardware wallet, a software wallet, or a wallet interface that interacts with the Synthetix platform. Always practice safe storage principles like keeping private keys secure and using wallets from trusted providers.
