Question 2

Who created Bancor?

Accepted Answer

Bancor was founded by a team of blockchain and technology entrepreneurs in 2017. It was one of the first projects in the DeFi industry, paving the way for the future of decentralized finance.

Question 3

How does Bancor work?

Accepted Answer

Bancor operates as a decentralized exchange (DEX) protocol that relies on an automated market maker (AMM) system to allow for seamless and safe token exchanges. It utilizes its native token, BNT, to maintain liquidity in its pools and enables other tokens to be built and run on its network. Through Bancor, users are able to provide liquidity to pools and earn APR of up to 60% on select tokens. Additionally, it offers protection from impermanent loss and the ability to have single-token exposure.

Question 4

What Makes Bancor Unique?

Accepted Answer

What sets Bancor apart is its unique liquidity provision model. Unlike most other AMM protocols where you need to provide both tokens in a liquidity pair, Bancor allows single-token exposure. This means you only need to supply one token and the network algorithmically provides the other, ensuring price balance through an elastic supply mechanism. In addition, Bancor innovated a ground-breaking Impermanent Loss protection feature. This feature essentially safeguards liquidity providers from potential losses due to price fluctuations.

Question 5

What is Bancor's Role in the DeFi Industry?

Accepted Answer

Bancor plays a significant role in the DeFi industry as one of its pioneering platforms, setting the stage for future protocols in the sector. It's one of the most used protocols in terms of trading volume, making it a pivotal player in the DeFi landscape. Furthermore, Bancor has contributed significantly to the discourse around automated market makers and the mitigation of impermanent loss. Its introduction of single-token exposure and impermanent loss protection has evolved the way liquidity provision is approached in DeFi.

Question 6

How much Bancor is in circulation?

Accepted Answer

Bancor (BNT) has a unique flexible supply mechanism. The total number of BNT tokens in circulation constantly changes due to the protocol's minting and burning mechanisms designed to maintain liquidity in its pools.

Question 7

Where Can You Buy Bancor (BNT)?

Accepted Answer

You can buy Bancor (BNT) from a number of different cryptocurrency exchanges. Today, BNT can be purchased on the following exchanges: Binance US, Binance, BTCTurk, Coinbase Pro.
