Question 1

What is the current price of Aeternity (AE)?

Accepted Answer

The current price of Aeternity (AE) is BNB 0.00000765. Over the last 24 hours, it has increased by +1.24%.

Question 2

What is Aeternity (AE)?

Accepted Answer

Aeternity (AE) is a public, open-source blockchain protocol designed to deliver a platform for the next generation of decentralized applications (dApps) with high scalability. It is unique in building robust, essential technological features right into the protocol itself. These features include state channels for off-chain scaling, oracles for bringing real-world information on-chain, and a naming system for easier user interaction. Its entire ecosystem has been constructed for streamlined, functional development of smart contracts and dApps.

Question 3

Who created Aeternity?

Accepted Answer

Aeternity was created by a team of establish developers and cryptography experts. Some key figures include Robert Virding, who is one of the co-creators of Erlang (the programming language that the core components of aeternity are written in), John Hughes, co-designer of Haskell, and Ulf Norell, co-designer of the Agda programming language used for formal verification.

Question 4

How does Aeternity function?

Accepted Answer

Aeternity employs the Bitcoin-NG consensus algorithm, which was developed by researchers from Cornell University. For protection against Sybil attacks, it utilizes the Cuckoo Cycle mining algorithm. The platform has its smart contract language known as Sophia, designed with functional programming, which is believed to result in more secure and reliable code.

Question 5

What makes Aeternity unique?

Accepted Answer

What sets Aeternity apart from other blockchain platforms is the fact that the protocol incorporates a number of essential technological features at its core level (Layer 1). This includes state channels for scaling off-chain transactions, oracles for real-world information, and a naming system for easier transactions. This ensures increased user-friendliness and functionality right out of the box, as opposed to relying on third-party developments. The æternity ecosystem also features SDKs in Javascript, GO, Python, Java, as well as a middleware and a development suite that streamline smart contract development.

Question 6

What is the purpose of AE tokens?

Accepted Answer

AE tokens serve two main purposes in the æternity platform. Firstly, they act as the economic unit of account on the platform, being used for transaction fees and for deploying contracts. Secondly, they are used as ballots in the community-driven on-chain governance votes, giving holders a stake in the direction and development of the æternity project.

Question 7

How much Aeternity is currently in circulation?

Accepted Answer

As of today, the circulating supply of Aeternity is 438.2M, out of a maximum total supply of 536.3M.

Question 8
